About

My name is Bill Cotter and I have a love-hate relationship with education. As a middle school science and high school project design teacher, education is what I do and I love every second of it. I love learning, I love teaching and I most love learning alongside my students. What I dislike about education is all of the rules. I question why education has to be the way it is and I don’t take “thats just the way we do things around here,” as an answer. I want to know why and I don’t ever want to stop asking that question. Whether it is “why technology,” “why homework,” “why standardized tests,” or even “why school,” I think reflecting on these questions is what turns a teacher into an educator. This blog is my chance to share my “why” with the world and hopefully in the process disrupt (hence disruptEDU) the current educational paradigm in a positive way.
